This is the first step in the rug cleaning process. We use a rug beating machine to remove deeply embedded dust. Over the years your rug can accumulate large amounts of dust that needs to be removed. For some rugs, we use compressed air to remove loose dirt and any of the soiling that is stuck on the carpet fibers. These processes will remove most of the embedded soils in the foundation of the rug.
The removal of urine or odor from an oriental rug, insect mildew and other type of contaminants requires using a special process. This is a bath that includes special enzymes to break down urine and odors which can then be flushed from the rug. Any animal odors on the rug are completely removed and not masked. Once the removal process is done, we spin dry the rug to remove any water and to start the cleaning process.
The process of a submersion wash uses softened water and neutral rug cleaning solution. A rotary scrubber or hand scrubbing will be used on both the front and back surface of the rug. Excess water is removed by a roller squeegee. If the rug contains mold or urine, the rug can be treated with a disinfectant to kill bacteria in the rug.
Rinsing is performed on all rugs to wash off all cleaning agents and remaining dirt or soils that is on the rug. A thorough rinsing is important to remove all the dirty water to make sure that only clean water remains in the rug.
When rugs have gone through a final rinse, they will then be placed on a spin drying machine. Our spin dryer will remove 95% of the water so any remaining water is gone from the rug. Afterwards we hang the rug in our drying room with a de-humidifier to speed the drying process. Many rug cleaning companies do not use a spin dryer because they cost over $50,000 and just hang the rug soaked in water. This causes in the dirty water to dry at the edges of rug. As a result the edges of the rug are dirty and the fringes could be soiled and can damage the structure of the rug.
A final inspection is given to all rugs that have gone through the cleaning process. This is to ensure that there are no foreign particles on the rug before it is shipped back to the customer. The fringes of the rug will also be combed and examined. Finally we wrap the rug for shipment and our customer service department will call you and arrange for a free delivery. Once you open the rug and inspect it, you will see why Green Choice is the leader in Monmouth county for rug cleaning.
